This Privacy Policy explains what data Teleprompter: Video Autocue processes, why, and what rights you have as a result. It applies to both the iOS and the macOS version of the app.

1. Data controller

Responsible for data processing under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

2. What data we process — and what we don't

The app does not create a user account and does not require registration. Scripts, profiles (font size, speed, line width, theme, etc.) and settings are stored exclusively locally on your device (JSON files in the app's own storage area) — they never leave your device and are never accessed, collected, or stored by us on any server.

Camera & microphone: If you use camera mode, the app accesses the camera and microphone locally to create a recording. This recording is saved directly on your device (on iOS to your Photos library, on macOS to a location you choose) and is never transmitted by the app to us or any third party.

Purchase/subscription data: Selling and managing the subscription necessarily involves processing purchase data — see Section 4 (Third parties).

The app currently uses no analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs. Should this change in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.

3. Purpose of processing

• Local data (scripts, profiles, settings): solely to provide the app's core function — the teleprompter.
• Camera/microphone: solely to create a video recording of your performance at your request.
• Purchase data: to sell your subscription, verify its status (unlocking), and let you manage/cancel it.

4. Third parties that process data

Apple (App Store / StoreKit): The subscription purchase runs entirely through Apple's in-app purchase system. We never see payment data (credit card, etc.) — it is processed exclusively by Apple. Apple's own privacy policy also applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

RevenueCat (subscription management): We use RevenueCat as a service provider to check subscription status across devices and to offer "Restore purchases"/"Manage subscription" in the app. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, device-/installation-based ID and purchase receipts from Apple for this — no payment details, name, or email, unless you share these with us separately. No other third parties are currently used.
